NSF 2028: BAYELSA GOVT REAFFIRMS READINESS TO HOST EVENT; AS NATIONAL SPORTS COMMISSION INSPECTS FACILITIES The National Sports Commission has commended the Bayelsa state government for its vision and drive to have one of the best sporting facilities in the country. Director General, National Sports Commission, Hon. Bukola Olapade gave the commendation during a courtesy visit to the Bayelsa governor, Senator Douye Diri in Government House, Yenagoa, in Tuesday. Hon. Olapade, alongside some Directors at the Commission were in the state to inspect facilities following the state's recent bid to his the National Sports Festival in 2028. CEDAR FOOTBALL ACADEMY WINS 4-NATION TOURNAMENT IN PORTHARCOURT The maiden edition of the 4-Nation Holiday Tournament in Port Harcourt for U-13 and U-10 boys, organized by Cedar Football Academy, at weekend came to a climax in grand style with Cedar Football Academy defeating King David Academy 7-6 on penalties after a one all draw. According to XtrymeSports.blogspot.com, the competition was held at the Nigeria Television Authority football pitch in Port Harcourt on Saturday, 9th August 2025. King David Academy found the back of the net first, and were hoping to get a double, but a revived Cedar Football Academy got back into the game and eventually got the equalizer. BAYELSA PRE-SEASON TOURNAMENT : ORGANIZERS HOLD DRAWS****AS BAYELSA UNITED U20 BATTLES WARRI WOLVES IN CURTAIN RAISER Bayelsa United U20 will tackle Nigerian Premier Football League, NPFL returnees Warri Wolves FC at the second edition of the Bayelsa Pre-season tournament in Yenagoa, XtrymeSports.blogspot.com reports. This follows the draws held in Yenagoa, with officials of some of the teams present.
