OSOMKIME BLANKSON UNITY TOURNEY KICKS OFF IN YENAGOA **** As Famgbe, Yenezue-gene Fire Blank In Opener The Opolo community school field was agog on Friday as the much anticipated maiden Osomkime Blankson Unity Football Tournament for Yenagoa council area kicked off in the capital city. Thirty five teams drawn from the communities within Yenagoa are participating in the competition. Sponsor of the tournament, Hon. Chief Osomkime Blankson, led other notable personalities from the council area, including paramount rules of neighboring communities to the opening ceremony. Performing the kick-off ceremony, the sponsor described football as a unifier, as he expressed his delight with the teams in the tourney, as well as the massive turn out of fans at the commencement of the competition. OSOMKIME BLANKSON UNITY TOURNEY KICKS OFF ON FRIDAY, 21st NOVEMBER. Organisers of the maiden Osomkime Blankson Unity Football Tournament for Yenagoa Local Government Area, have announced Friday, 21st November, 2025 as the kick off date for the competition. After a long wait for the commencement of the tournament due to preparations, all is now set for the tourney to get underway this week at the Opolo School field, at 3pm. www XtrymeSports.blogspot.com reports that the Director General of the competition Comrade Dumeze Akuegbe, announced the commencement date through a statement this Wednesday in Yenagoa. ABUJA SET TO HOST 10th SENATE PRESIDENT'S CUP With few days to the commencement of the much anticipated second edition of the 10th Senate President's Unity Cup, in the nation's capital, Abuja, preparations are into it's conclusive stage. However, the date will witness a minor shift as arrival of participating teams to Abuja is now on Saturday, 8th November 2025, instead of Friday, 7th November as earlier scheduled. A statement by the Public Relations Officer, Grassroots Sports Federation, GRASOF, Mr Patrick Ndubuisi says the shift was necessitated by the ongoing arrangements and plans to ensure a hitch free competition. Screening of players will now be held on Sunday, 9th November, at 9am, while the opening ceremony will take place on Sunday 9th November at 1pm. 10th SENATE PRESIDENT UNITY CUP: ADHERE STRICTLY TO AGE BRACKET - Coach Ada  As the forthcoming coming and much anticipated second edition of the 10th Senate President's U-18 Unity Football Tournament draws near, Chairman of the screening committee, Coach Ada Gwegwe, has issued a stern warning to participating teams against the inclusion of over-age players in the competition. In a statement signed and released by Mr Patrick Ndubuisi, the National Public Relations Officer, Grassroot Sports Federation, organisers of the competition, Coach Gwegwe emphasized that the screening process for this year's Senate President Cup will be rigorous and strictly enforced.  He notes that unlike last year where coaches brought several over-aged players, and the screening committee had compassion on some teams so as to meet up the FIFA approved minimum of seven players, this year will be different.
