Prosperity Cup: University of Africa, Toru-orua FC Wins First Game

One of the tertiary institutions participating in the ongoing Bayelsa's Governor Football Tournament, University of Africa, Toru-Orua has progressed to the next round after beating their opponents in their first game.

Xtrymesportsblog.com reports that the 'school boys' proved not to be push overs, as they defeated Eric FC of Ogobiri by two goals to one, at Ebedebiri.

The game started with both sides marching each other with their eyes on goal, but it was UAT FC that conceded first, ending the first half with a goal down due to error from the goal keeper.

Nevertheless, just ten minutes into the second half UAT FC was awarded a penalty due to a mistake from the opposing defender, and Agbori Frank stepped up to send the goal keeper the wrong direction to draw level.

The goal motivated the school boys, and they took possession, recording about 60% 40%.

The pressure became unbearable for ERIC FC leaving them in a state of confusion. A corner kick from Nana left the defenders stranded on their toes, as Michael Emo found space to toe the ball to the roof top of the goal post, a goal that won the game for UAT FC.

UAT FC aka Dé Bull Dogs will face Agbere FC on the 10th of June, following the latter's one nil victory against Dovvy FC.
