10TH SENATE PRESIDENT CUP: WE WILL BE STRICT WITH AGE BRACKET - Organizing Secretary 

With the much talked about 10th Senate President Cup around the corner, participating teams have been urged to stick with the age bracket of the tournament.

A statement signed by the Organising Secretary of the Grassroot Sports Federation of Nigeria, GRASOF, Ada Gwegwe says the competition is strictly for players not mote than 18 years, as over age players will be screened out.
The veteran grassroot football coach stressed that the Senate President Cup is a young cadre tourney organized to discover talents, hence the need to protect it so that the aim will not be defeated.

He said, "This is how it is with all age group competitions, the age bracket must be protected to give young players a chance to prove themselves so that they can begin to nurture their dream of playing football at the next level."
"For me, I have been in grassroot football competition for several years, and that is our area of interest, even at GRASOF, we want to expose the young talents, that's why we keep clamoring for competitions for them".
"So I want to appeal to all the participating teams to assist us in achieving one of the aims of this tournament, by fielding in young players that are 18years and below. Failure to do that then such players will be screened out. Even if it's only six players that merit to play, they will play like that, and we don't have any apologies."

"Once again, teams should do the needful, so they don't blame the organizers for any misfortune", he concluded.
