10TH SENATE PRESIDENT'S CUP: EBONYI'S GREATNESS SPORTING FC TRIUMPH IN EASTERN DERBY.....
.....As Lagos, Ekiti Teams Coast To Victories
Following the successful conclusion of the opening ceremony/official kick-off of the 10th Senate President U-18 Boys Unity Cup, the real business commenced on Match day 2 on Monday with three games played at the Old Parade Ground, Abuja.
The first game saw Dream Team of Kaduna lost one goal to two to Great Olympics Football Club of Lagos, with all goals coming in the first half of the game.
Caleb Job of Lagos drew first blood earlier, but his side couldn't hold the lead for long as Uche Marcel of Dream Team drew level few minutes later. The Lagosians were clearly in charge of the game for most of the minutes, which led to them restoring the lead through Anthony Jeremiah.
In the second game, Greatness Sporting Academy of Ebonyi recorded the highest number of goals so far as they made light work of Adoration FC of Enugu, defeating their fellow easterners with four unreplied goals.
Azi Miracle, Ogbonna Nnabuike's brace, and Onele Theophilus's beautiful strike humbled their opponents who tried tirelessly to make an impact, but to no avail.
The last game between Kifa FC of Abuja and Agbana Wonderful FC of Ekiti ended two goals to one in favour of the Westerners.
Adam Harrison of Kifa FC tapped in from two yards to give his team the lead, but an own goal from his teammate restored parity at the stroke of half time. At the resumption, the young and energetic Ekiti side kept up the pressure leading to two penalties. Ayodele Omotayo's spot kick was parried away by the goalkeeper while Adebayo Idris send the keeper the wrong way to score the winner.
Match day 3 will see Qatar Football Academy of Bornu state tackle Kebbi Selected of Kebbi state at 9am, Great Olympic of Lagos state will host Ogboinbiri FC of Bayelsa state at 10:30am, Dream Team of Kaduna state will be aiming for their first victory when they confront Sabon Fegi of Yobe state at 11:30am, Tanko Academy of Nasarawa state will test the waters for the first time in the competition against high scoring side, Greatness Sporting of Ebonyi state at 1pm, while at 2pm, Jibril FC of Benue state will be hoping to compound the woes of Abuja's Kifa FC.
All games will be played at the Old Parade Ground, Area 8, Abuja on Wednesday, November 12th.
