BAYELSA WINS MEN TABLE TENNIS GOLD 

Bayelsa state male Table Tennis team on Monday, clinched gold medal in style, to further prove their dominance in the sport in the country.

The Table Tennis team led by Samuel Boboye clinched the top spot after seeing off Delta state in the finals, winning three straight sets, Xtrysports.blogspot.com reports.
In the singles category, Olajide Omotayo won the first set 3-0, while Taiwo Mati won the second set by 3-1.
In the doubles, the duo of Olajide Omotayo and Azeez Sholanke humbled their Delta counterpart 3-0 to clinch gold.
Bayelsa state earlier defeated host, Ogun state in the semifinals while Delta saw off Lagos to advance.
Chairman, Bayelsa state Table Tennis Association, Mr Amaebi Stow, alluded the victory to the unflinching support of the state Governor, Senator Douye Diri, whom he described as God sent, as he also commended the coaches and athletes for their commitment and doggedness throughout the competition.
Technical Adviser on Sports Development, Hon. Alaowei Opukeme congratulated the team, adding that Bayelsa was still on course to emerge overall winners at the 22nd National Sports Festival.

OSOMKIME BLANKSON UNITY TOURNEY HOLDS DRAWS ***As Tournament Kicks Off November 20th Organisers of the maiden Osomkime Blankson Unity Football Tournament for Yenagoa Local Government Area have held the draws for the maiden edition of the tournament. A total of thirty five teams have registered to take part in the tourney that will kick off on the 20th of November, 2025. According to the organizers, the shift in date from September 28th to November 20th was necessitated due to pleas from players and officials owing to the incessant downpour, which will hinder free flow of football, and also deny them from showcasing their skills. The thirty five teams were grouped into four, namely Epie, Atissa, Okordia Zarama Buseni and Gbarain Ekpetiama, as sixteen teams will qualify for the Round of sixteen after the preliminary round. Thirty five teams drawn from the communities within Yenagoa are participating in the competition. Sponsor of the tournament, Hon.
