NSF: BAYELSA WOMEN BASKETBALL TEAM WINS GOLD

The Bayelsa state women Basketball team has defended their gold medal after beating host, Ogun state in the final on Tuesday, XtrymeSports.blogspot.com reports.

Bayelsa led from the first quarter and held on to the lead till the fourth quarter which ended 59:37 in favour of the defending champions.
The tensed final saw the host coming close to call, especially in the second and third quarter, however, the Bayelsa team kept their cool till the final whistle.
Speaking to newsmen shortly after the game, Coach Tony Nelson commended his girls for making the state proud for the umpteenth time, winning yet another gold in Basketball.
He also expressed his gratitude to the Governor, Senator Douye Diri, for his continuous support to athletes and coaches, which has seen them excel in various competitions.
