SENATOR ANIEKAN BASSEY ENDORSES 10TH SENATE PRESIDENT'S U-18 UNITY CUP
The Senator representing Akwa Ibom North-East Senatorial District at the Red Chambers of the National Assembly, Senator Aniekan Bassey, says he is throwing his weight behind the 10th Senate President's U-18 Unity Cup.
At a meeting with the National Coordinator, Hon. John Ekpenyong in Abuja on Thursday, the Senator expressed his appreciation to the Senate President, Distinguished Senator Godswill Akpabio, GCON, and commended the organizers, Grassroots Sports Federation (GRASOF), for their efforts in developing the youth through sports.
The Senator also praised the LOC Chairman, Sen. Musa Mustafa, and the Senate Sports Committee Chairman, Sen. Abdul Ningi, for their commitment towards ensuring the forthcoming tournament is successful. He emphasized the importance of fairness to all participating states and encouraged the organizers to ensure a level playing field for all the teams.
"This tournament is a testament to the Senate President's dedication to promoting youth development and unity through sports, Senator Bassey said. I commend the organizers for their efforts in bringing together young talents from across the country, and I look forward to the success of the tournament."
Hon. John Ekpenyong, the Tournament Coordinator, thanked Senator Aniekan Bassey for his commitment to youth development in his senatorial district and promised to present the Senator with tournament materials in a subsequent meeting.
He also informed the Senator that the event is scheduled to kick off on November 9th at the Old Parade Ground, Abuja, with 20 states participating in this year's edition.
"The 10th Senate President's U-18 Unity Cup is a premier platform for young football talents to showcase their skills and get exposed to top-notch football," Hon. Ekpenyong said. "We are committed to ensuring the success of the tournament and promoting youth development through sports."
The event scheduled to hold from November 7th to 17th, 2025, at the Old Parade Ground, Abuja, will feature 21 states, and is expected to be a thrilling competition and exciting competition.
