SWAN @ 60: BAYELSA SWAN HOLDS THANKSGIVING SERVICE
Sports Writers practicing in Bayelsa State have been commended for their tireless efforts in informing the public about various sporting activities within the state and across the country.
The commendation was given by Pastor Ambrose Ejovren of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Breakthrough Parish, Yenagoa, during a Special Prayer and Thanksgiving Service led by the Chairman, Timinepre Ohia, exco and other members of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Bayelsa State Chapter.
Pastor Ejovren also lauded the Governor Douye Diri-led administration for its continuous support and massive investments in the sports sector, which have contributed to the state’s impressive record in several national and international competitions in recent years.
He expressed appreciation to the Bayelsa SWAN family for dedicating time to thank God, describing it as the right and noble thing to do. The cleric urged members to remain steadfast in worship and gratitude to God in all circumstances.
Speaking on the forthcoming 60th Anniversary of the Association, Pastor Ejovren congratulated the national body of SWAN, wishing the organization more growth, unity, and greater accomplishments in the years ahead—both at the state and national levels.
The high point of the service was a special prayer session for the success of the 60th anniversary celebration.
Among those in attendance was the Secretary of the NUJ, Bayelsa State Council, Comrade Stanley Imgbi.
