HON OSOMKIME BLANKSON UNITY FOOTBALL TOURNAMENT: QUARTER FINAL TEAMS EMERGE
Eight teams have booked their quarter final spot after defeating their opponents at the ongoing Osomkime Blankson Unity Cup in Yenagoa.
At the Round of 16 fixtures which began on Monday 22nd of December, Ogu community defeated Obogoro community by two unreplied goals at the Bishop Dimieri Grammar School center, while Igbogene whitewashed Famgbe with five goals to nil.
At the Ogboloma center on the same day, Yenizue-Gene beat Tombia community one nil, as Ogboloma community booked their passage to the quarter final without kicking a ball due to the inability of Okordia community not turning up for the encounter.
At the Biogbolo/Yenezua-Gene center on Tuesday December 23rd, Polaku and Kpansia played out a one all draw, however,
Kpansia Community saw off their opponent 4-3 on penalties, as neighboring community, Yenizue-epie defeated Ovom community by a lone goal.
It was an interesting encounter between Swali community and Edepie community at the Kpansia center as both teams showcased their determination to progress to the next round with the game ending in a dramatic two all draw, but in the shootout, Edepie community has the last laugh with score at 4-3, while the last game between Amarata and Agudama community ended one nil in favor of the former.
With the Round of 16 games concluded the tournament moves to the quarter final stage which will take place on Friday, 26th December.
At BDGS centre Edepie will play host to Amarata at 2pm, Kpansia will tackle Yenizue-epie at 4pm at the same venue, while at the Kpansia center, Ogu will face Igbogene at 2pm, as Yenizue-Gene tackles Ogboloma at 4pm.
