OSOMKIME BLANKSON UNITY FOOTBALL TOURNAMENT: GROUP STAGE FIXTURES BEGINS ON MONDAY, 15TH


Organisers of the maiden Osomkime Blankson Unity Football Tournament for Yenagoa Local Government Area, have announced Monday, 15th December, 2025 as the commencement of the group games of the competition.

According to the schedule of games, Ovom will take on Akaba in the first fixture at the Bishop Dimieri Grammar School field at 2pm, while Famgbe will tackle Agbura at 4pm at the same venue.

On Tuesday 16th December, Edepie will face Azikoro at 2pm at the Biogbolo/Yenizue-gene field, while Agudama will meet Okutukutu in the other game.

The following day, Wednesday, 17th December, Akenfa tackles Amarata, as Biogbolo will lock horns with neighbors, Yenizue-gene, while at the Kpansia centre, Onopa will host Yenizue-Epie.
The group games will be concluded on Saturday December 20th, and will proceed to the final stages of the competition.

A statement by the Technical Director of the competition, Coach Ada Gwegwe, reminded the teams to continue to imbibe the spirit of sportsmanship as so far witnessed, adding that the stakes are getting higher as the competition approaches the latter stages.

OSOMKIME BLANKSON UNITY TOURNEY HOLDS DRAWS ***As Tournament Kicks Off November 20th Organisers of the maiden Osomkime Blankson Unity Football Tournament for Yenagoa Local Government Area have held the draws for the maiden edition of the tournament. A total of thirty five teams have registered to take part in the tourney that will kick off on the 20th of November, 2025. According to the organizers, the shift in date from September 28th to November 20th was necessitated due to pleas from players and officials owing to the incessant downpour, which will hinder free flow of football, and also deny them from showcasing their skills. The thirty five teams were grouped into four, namely Epie, Atissa, Okordia Zarama Buseni and Gbarain Ekpetiama, as sixteen teams will qualify for the Round of sixteen after the preliminary round. OSOMKIME BLANKSON UNITY TOURNEY KICKS OFF IN YENAGOA **** As Famgbe, Yenezue-gene Fire Blank In Opener The Opolo community school field was agog on Friday as the much anticipated maiden Osomkime Blankson Unity Football Tournament for Yenagoa council area kicked off in the capital city. Thirty five teams drawn from the communities within Yenagoa are participating in the competition. Sponsor of the tournament, Hon. Chief Osomkime Blankson, led other notable personalities from the council area, including paramount rules of neighboring communities to the opening ceremony.
