ATHLETICS: BAYELSA SWAN CONGRATULATES DR. OREDIPE

The Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Bayelsa State Chapter, has congratulated Dr. Kolawole Oredipe on his appointment as Chairman of the Bayelsa State Athletics Association, describing the appointment as well-deserved and a proud moment for the athletics community in the state.

In a statement jointly signed by the Chairman, Mrs. Timinepre Ohia, and the Secretary, Mr. Patrick Ndubuisi, and released on Friday, the association commended Dr. Oredipe for his dedication, professionalism, and remarkable contributions to the growth of athletics in Bayelsa State over the years.

According to the statement, Dr. Oredipe’s passion for sports development and commitment to excellence have significantly advanced athletics at both grassroots and elite levels.

SWAN recalled that since the establishment of the SamKay Athletics Academy, athletics in Bayelsa State has witnessed remarkable growth, with increased participation in national and international competitions, improved performances, and winning of several laurels.

It added that these efforts culminated in the sate emerging champions at the maiden Niger Delta Sports Festival held in Uyo last year.

The association expressed confidence that Dr. Oredipe will bring his wealth of experience to bear in his new role and continue to make meaningful impact in the sports sector. 

It also urged young athletes and sports administrators to draw inspiration from his leadership and commitment to excellence.

Bayelsa SWAN concluded by wishing Dr. Oredipe good health, greater accomplishments, and continued success in his future endeavors.
